Karen Skoglund is the Tie-Dye Lady of Northern New Jersey who brings her bold sense of color into the craft of folding and dyeing of fabric. Her personal experience and party events have stretched over a time period of nearly two decades. Karen was inspired by her various mentors and pieces she has seen at the many concerts that she has attended. Karen has brought this experience and passion for tie-dye to thousands of people of all ages, from toddlers, to the handicapped, to a 90-year-old's surprise birthday party. Whether it be in her tie-dye exhibits and workshops at the Newark Museum, or her lessons at Ramapo College and Midland Park Continuing Education, Karen teaches the art of folding and dyeing in a few easy steps. She creates custom made scarves, men's neckties, and unique, wearable art clothing.

Karen is well known for teaching recreational programs, events for the nearby elementary schools, as well as tie-dye parties, and a recent Girl Scout session. For the Girl Scout event, the girls were inspired to create their own tie-dye badge about their experiences after working with Karen. At the tie-dye parties, customers can select a "Rainbow Spiral," "Mandala Deluxe," or "Simple '60's" package in which Karen provides hours of entertainment with her tie dye, shibori and discharge techniques. She creates her own tie-dyed environment at her parties, showcasing her previous pieces and masterpieces, to inspire each person in creating their own unique tie-dyed shirts.

Mandala Deluxe:

Includes everything in the Rainbow Spiral package plus: Custom tie-dyed invitations printed & mailed, Tie-dyed peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, Rainbow fresh fruit & vegetable platter, rainbow sprinkle cupcakes & 100% fruit juice served on tie-dyed paper products.
Children's and Adult sizes x-small to xx-large $24.00 per person

Simple 60's:

Includes everything in the Rainbow Spiral package except you provide the t-shirts.
$120.00 flat fee for up to 20 people
$6.00 for each additional person
